So, it's finally happened. After hearing all of you rave/obsess over The Libertines, I borrowed a CD from a friend. The hype was all justified. I absolutely fell in love with it. I've had it on repeat for about six hours.



I went to the docter's office today. The chances are high that I've got mono (dunno why, though. It's not like I've been kissing anyone < /bitterness>). *sigh* Although it does explain a lot about how I've been feeling for the last couple weeks, it still really sucks.

Yeah, I kinda fell in love with Pete through Chrystal's icons... There was one she had, I think she's changed it out now... lol, anywho, I didn't know anything about him at the time other than that I found his face very expressive. I didn't know that he was Pete or that he was in the Libertines or anything.

And then Julie started gushing about their music and posting picspam and I was like "oooh! it's that guy!", so one night I downloaded some of the songs to try them out and found that I really enjoy their music. I don't know too much about them outside of their music and the occasional slash!fic, but mmm, they definitely have commandeered a special place in my heart :-)

That's just about how I discovered them too. I'd hear Chrystal talking about them, and so I was like, "hmm. The Libertines. I don't know them" and then I heard more people talking about them, and more, and saw articles about them, and when my friend was like "Hey Penni, I've got this awesome CD--The Libertines! Want to borrow it?" I was so curious I had to say yes.

They've for sure got a special place in my heart as well. It's not many bands that I can stand listening to for the entire day as I'm sick in bed.
