I'm writing a paper comparing LJ and MySpace. I'm trying to get a handle on some demographics of each. If you could answer some questions for me, I'd really appreciate it.

re:poetry...Hmmm. i'm mildly uncomfortable, if only for the reason that...i dunno, i've got this irrational plagarism fear. and since it is *secret* and pretty much friends only, i wouldn't really have much legal protection. which is dumb. feel free to use a couple lines, but i would appreciate being identified (username is good!). thanks for asking! i wanna read the paper...

incidentally, there is a ravenish bird with a fairly bright blue head sitting on our bird feeder. how very strange. looks like it dipped its head in something.

Yeah, that's totally understandable. I just wanted to make it clear to the reader that I wasn't talking about crappy *coughmyspacecough* poetry when I said a friend of mine keeps a poetry journal. Ok, I'll just use a line or two and credit it to your journal. I wasn't sure if the wish for anonymnity would be greater or the wish for proper credit. But of course it won't be connected to you, just to the journal.

Huh! That's very interesting! I wonder what kind of bird it is, or if it actually did fall in a paint can or something.

I didn't answer the last two, because while I have accounts at myspace, facebook, and quite possibly friendster, I have them solely so I can see the pictures and such that people occasionally link me to. I have no actual USE for any of them; they're horrid.

LJ is basically the extent of my online activity. I have a facebook account that I check on occasion to keep up with college friends and classmates, and my friend has a xanga that I read if I remember, but I am not personally terribly active in either of those forums. If facebook let me post entries and make a cool layout then maybe that would change. But as it is. =; no, thnx.

That's exactly as it is with me, too. I check my facebook randomly when someone from high school lists me as a friend, but that's about it. And a friend of mine has a Xanga that she updates like, once every semester.
