I WOULD PLS LIKE THERE TO BE AN AWESOME CLUB OF AWESOMENESS TO GET PEOPLE'S FANDOM MOJO BACK, PENELOPE. or if they have fandom mojo they could totes still be in it so they could share. :"> i am so for real, man.
*despairs* I am sad because I still love my OTP(s)... but I hate feeling tethered to this fandom. I half want to drop out of all my ficathons and just start writing the countless PoT bunnies that have been flooding my brain. But the responsible side of me is saying that would be bad. I feel awful that I committed myself to HP stuff and now it feels more like a chore than a hobby. /ramble.
Dude, I know. I still love the (hp) characters, but, I'm only reading stuff by the flist, or stuff recced by at least two people on the flist. And not even all of that, because, my oh my, they're a prolific bunch. And I still enjoy it and everything, and I even wrote my springtimegen fic and enjoyed writing that, enjoyed mucking around in these characters' minds, but...I JUST WANT TO DIVE INTO THE CRACKY GOODNESS AND NEVER EVER LEAVE.
Right. I am still reading because I have to rec stuff for quibbler_report, and if my friends post things, then I will be inclined to read that too... And, if on the off-chance someone writes Albus/Harry, I will probably pounce on that. But right now I am struggling to get my veryveryoverdue springtime_gen fic written and am trying to stave off the plotbunnies from new shiny fandom and aughhh. I just feel like PoT is so small and intimate and uncomplicated and I am in love.
I'm actually shocked at the levels of PoT love that have overtaken our quadrant of HP fandom, since my getting into the fandom was kind of separate from HP fandom (though it was HP people who introduced me - mousapelli and ponderosa121 encouraged me around the same time). I can't really figure it out! I guess Aja is very convincing. :~~D
In regards to the last question: I do like anime, I like the smutacular PoT doujinshis (of which I have many), but I haven't watched/read the series in any form yet.
You should definitely give it a try. The characters are really great. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll email you directions on how to get hooked up.
I'm not burned out on fandom. I just don't have much time for it anymore. I can't keep up with my flist's posts during the week so I have to play catch up the weekends. But I still enjoy it and still spend a lot of my free time writing fanfic.
I couldn't answer your last question either. I'm not against POT at all and I like anime, I just lack the time that's necessary to download and watch the episodes. So I have no idea what half of my flist is talking about and I just tune it out.
Time is certainly a big issue for me. It feels like I go back and forth from having no time whatsoever to all of a sudden having more time than I know what to do with, so I get bored because no one has updated since the last time I hit F5.
Ahhh. Again, understandable. If you ever do get some free time, though...
Yay, Penni, I love you and your polls/quizzes. Fuji loves them too! *points* It's perfect timing for this quiz, too, because I've just realized that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by my flist (which only has like, 40 or 50 people/comms!) I don't know what it is, but I don't even remember to check it half the time! I've only been on LJ for about 3 months- is it possible I'm burned out already?
I LOVE the PoT OT question!
Today I was thinking... I'd love to make myself one of those "anti-drug" icons that says "PoT- my anti-drug." Lame, but I want it!!!!!
