OMG, I love crackishly good stuff! I actually find it really funny that Prince of Tennis is abbreviated PoT and that it's filled with crack... *subliminal messages*
I just read above and below that this "Prince of Tennis" is a weird yet amusing anime...along that same vein, look at "Excel Saga." That is the weirdest series I've ever seen, and it's very random and ridiculous and great entertainment.
Ahahaha Prince of Tennis. It's this cracked-out Japanese anime show. Ahahahahha omg. It's actually really good and I'm enjoying it a lot, but wow! Teh random! It's amazing! It is about what one would think it is--a bunch of kids who are freakishly (like, physics-defying-ly) good at...wait for it...TENNIS! Ahhahaha. It's a lot of fun, though. And, the two main characters are both good looking in that weird anime kind of way. Screencaps!
OMGWTF IS WITH MY ENTIRE FLIST IT SEEMS BEING INTO POT, D: WTF. I blame Aja. :p
I always used to use pen and paper for fic and now I can't imagine using anything but the compter :D it's SO MUCH QUICKER. I'm not the best or fastest typer but ZOMG I do not miss the tedious process of copying from handwritten to typed.
IT IS TOTALLY AJA'S FAULT! But omg. Seriously. The crack. Plus lots and lots of good looking tennis playing gay boys! You would TOTES like it liekwhoa.
Your situation=my situation. Like, exactly. I use to only use pen to write fic, but it's so much slower! And then you have to type it all anyway, and the way it's so much harder to edit? So not worth it.
;P PoT is becoming like Firefly: I would never watch it on principle now just because everyone going on about it is irritating me! Plus I have zero interest in anime. Or tennis, for that matter, except during Wimbledon when I and everyone else in the world magically gives a shit about tennis for a few weeks XP
Definitely SO much easier all round typing! Though I do like to look through my old folders of random stuff and see some of my earliest (alas, CRAP in retrospect :P) fic all written out :D
OMGWTF IS WITH MY ENTIRE FLIST IT SEEMS BEING INTO POT, D: WTF. I blame Aja. :p
asdjfajsfk;lsdk;l DON'T BLAME ME. Blame orphne. She got me into this and the only other person I knew in the whole damn fandom was prillalar. What else was I to do sadjfl;dj. AND ORPHNE DOESN'T EVEN LIKE TEZUKA. IT'S NOT FAIR.
Seriously, though, it's so much fun. The reason everybody's getting hooked on it has nothing to do with me - it's because they're all doing what I did. Going ...wtf it's tennis. Then they watch, and then they just get completely addicted, primarily because this show has the most brilliant characterizations ever (there are literally a hundred characters and you remember every last one of them because they're all so well done).
Well, and also because every single one of them is gay. :))
Exactly! I watched an episode or two just on a whim, expecting to be like "Oh, that's pretty good" and move on with my life. And now I'm almost 40 eposides in. And I started watching them a week ago.
We've just met the creepy pale guy who beats people up and is really scary! What's his deal? And, does he go away soon? He really upsets me.
:)) He really upset me too the first time I saw that arc. He'll be around for a while but his arc is, I think, really rewarding. I was really surprised at how enjoyable it was when I rewatched it a couple weeks ago.
I hesitated to ask the obvious on the ep community cause I don't want to make it my personal forum for ship discussion, but. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY GLORIOUS OTP TEZURYO. *HOLDS BREATH*
Seriously, though, I like it a lot. "PLEASE LET ME PLAY ECHIZEN"!!! "COME ALONE. I'LL BRING THE BALLS"!!!! I think they fit together well, like Oishi and Eiji do, where Oishi is solid and steady and provides a base for Eiji's jumping around and teddy bears. Tezuka is very serious and dedicated to the sport, while Ryoma is more about playing for fun/to whoop ass. And, they're both so good that they provide competition for each other when others can't. They both need to play someone on their level, and they fulfill that place for each other. I think they're quite well matched, skill-wise. Tezuka is better now, but Ryoma has a lot of potential and raw skill.
Also they're both really pretty, which definitely helps. I love this omg new fandom stage--almost every episode provids me with more things to squee about!
Hi! I saw that you've filled out a couple of polls on my LJ, and I was just wondering how you stumbled across me. :)
...well that would be telling! but tell I shall.
Whenever people ask, I answer them over on their livejournal so’as not to spoil the illusion for people who haven’t asked. Or something.
What you do to start is, you find a recent poll (easiest way is to create one yourself) and when you’ve done that you need the poll link. This is at the top of every poll.
Example of link: http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=677362
Each new poll is created one number above the other, so you just keep changing the poll number at the end. So that one in the example is poll 677362, so after doing that you change the number in the browser address bar to 677362, then 677361 and so on, counting back through the most recent polls.
You just see the polls and not who's journal they are in, so I only answer the ones I can make sense of from the poll questions and answers. Heh. I haven't done the one in the example above because there are no pictures for me to compare on, see? ;) The only downside is you might be doing a poll in some absolute nutters journal but it's alright for me because I'm not afraid of the dark. If you do want to see the context of the poll then you can click on the ‘discuss answers’ button and find out which journal the poll is in – but I reckon that destroys the fun.
All the polls that are open to everyone show as open, all the polls that aren't either show as results only or, if results are private too, it displays the message "Sorry, you're not permitted to see this poll" and you have to go to the next lowest poll number until you get to another one. More often than not they're entirely public, and most are in English with a small percentage in Russian and a tiny few in German. Not sure why I never seem to see any in other languages.
So that’s that. Heh. Copy/pasted the answer from past times :p
Oh, hi! I'm Penni! This isn't entirely a fandom journal, by the way--I hope that's not what you friended me for. Expect something like 50% RL, 30% fandom related in some way (recs, canon checks, pimping) and 20% random stuff (music, current events, random questions for the flist, the occasional meme). As for fandoms, in HP I read almost anything except for super dark angsty stuff, but my otp is Harry/Draco. I'm also into Queer As Folk (Brian/Justin!) and have fallen head over heels with Prince of Tennis, although I'm not far enough in to have an otp yet. So, yeah. That's what you're in for.
I'm Lucy. I wasn't expecting all fandom, I don't really like all fandom journals, I'd rather get to know people than just get things recced to me.
As you're friending me back I better warn you that my journal is rarely fandom. I occasionally rec things, occasionally link to my own drabbles and occasionally threaten my flist with spankings to get them to post in hd100. Usually I just moan about work, public transport and my husband.
I am trying to resist the lure of PoT and Loveless, but don't worry, if I start watching them I'm far more likely to blame shikishi than you.
