I finished reading the book! Haven't read anyone else's posts yet, but here are my thoughts.

I really need to read it again, to be honest. So much happened! Here are my general first impressions in no order.

The book was so full! I mean, so much happened. There weren't any little filler things, no quidditch match or classes or anything. It seemed like everything that happened was directly related to the plot. That honestly is not the sort I book I enjoy the most, but with so much to tie up, I think it was understandable. However. Epilogue. I'm pretty sure I read that exact same thing on FFN in eighth grade. *unimpressed* The book dwas so good, because for the most part she DIDN'T fuss with relationships and just left it action adventure. Oh well. It's not like I didn't know it was coming. :\

I don't really see--so many ships were sunk so forcefully. :\ Snape dead, Lupin dead, Harry and Ginny happily married for 19 years... I don't know. Although I supposed Sirius and Lupin can have fantastic dead!sex (in a completely non creepy way ok.)

So. Harry is a horcrux! I'm not going to lie, as soon as I read that I had to just sit there are cry for awhile. I could not believe it. I just sat there in shock. I honestly thought he was going to die die die. I was shocked and amazed and thrilled that he wasn't! It certainly had a lot of christian overtones, which I realized first by thinking it reminded me strongly of Aslan from CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia.

Dumbledore, I honestly did not know what to think. I had feelings that he was a huge manipulator, just throughout the books, but I still liked him and trusted him...until we started getting to the Grindewald stuff, and everything in Rita Skeeter's book. I just didn't know. I did like how Harry realized Dumbledore's secretiveness wasn't his strength, and told the DA what they were looking for.

HOW MUCH ASS DID NEVILLE KICK. I was so proud of him. For real. We've seen him come such a long way.

I was sure that Snape was innocent starting the book, but JKR certainly did an excellent job of convincing me otherwise! I really was convinced he was evil again, right up until he gave the memory to Harry.

I loved Kreacher's reform. I'd have to read it again to understand exactly how it happened, but I really liked that redemption theme.

I found the diversity on the good side, of blood and of species, a little preachy, sure, but not as over done as I am SURE JKR could have made it. She did it with enough class that I was pleased and happy that they all banded together.

Fred. :(((((((((((((((((

ETA already realized I forgot some things.

Dobby was made of so much win. ♥.

I loved how much the Malfoy's loved their son. There was been a lot of characterization of them as really cold and maybe abusive depending on how far you delve into FFN, but I adored them running through the castle during the final battle just looking for their son, because--of course they would.

I didn't appreciate Harry saving Voldemort's name when he knew it was being tracked. That just seemed really dumb to me. Very plot devicey.

The horcrux turning you evil like the ring (lord of the rings, I mean)= very good.

Fleur--Bill and Fleur but especially Fleur, to be honest, were also made of win. I really enjoyed them, and I was worried I wouldn't.

That's it for now. More later I'm sure.

PS few close shaves but I did make it through unspoiled! yay!
