Dec. 30th, 2005 01:37 pmHappy birthday,
silentauror!
I don't have words for how much I love you, doll. Just know that I do. ♥♥ Here's hoping that both your year and your cake are as fabulous as you are!
(and I also totally have a present for you that should arrive. Someday. After I send it. Yeah.)

Infra-Red...oh, I like this a lot. It's kind of sultry in that Brian Molko creepy way. This one really caught my attention.
Drag: Oh, this is classic Molko, isn't it? I love the lyrics
Space Monkey: Hmm, this kind of reminds me of the Brick Shithouse or Evalia electronica. Not my favorite of Placebo's stuff, but nothing that would make me change the station if it came on the radio
Follow The Cops Back Home: Now, see, this is the kind of Placebo stuff I really like--that bitter melancholy sound along with great lyrics.
Post Blue: Oh, I love that opening hook! This reminds me of I'll Be Yours a lot.
Because I Want You: I can't decide if this song is angry or sad or hopeful. Which I really like, because that's how things are--you're confused and don't always know what you want. Props, Placebo.
Blind: Mmmm. I like this. Again, the angst! But it's not the emo myspace cheesy angst, but real angst, real life pain. I like that a great deal. Oooh, and the addition of that "your funny valentine" line, that was great.
Pierrot The Clown: The heavy muffled drum reminds me of My Sweet Prince. And oh, very sad. I want to give him some soup. :(
Broken Promise: I like the piano and quiet in general feel of this. And then the loud entrance is really dramatic. Very nice.
One of a Kind: Huh, I wonder if Brian Molko is having some educational difficulties? What with this song and the bit about "You got As on your algebra tests/I failed and they kept me behind" in Drag. Hmm.
Cold Light Of Morning: Again with that nice piano. This isn't really their usual style, is it? I like it.
Song To Say Goodbye: Ouch! Wow, bitter break up song, much? Wow.
Overall, I like the album a LOT. Mmmm, new Placebo. Thank you so much! And, haha, you probably weren't really looking for all of my commentary, but I can't hear new music without wanting to talk about it to someone. :)
