Welcome to the FNL Club....come for Tim Riggins, stay for the overall awesomeness. :) I got into the show January of last year and still just love it to bits and pieces, even though S4 broke my heart into a billion tiny pieces. The writing on the show is just incredible and the acting might even be better.
Tim Riggins is in my Top 5 All-Time Favorite TV Characters, and not just because he's alarmingly easy on the eyes. It's for everything that you said about him - just how solid but lost he is. So loyal and what he wants is so simple, but his life is still tragically and ridiculously difficult.
I too, have a weakness for the badboy with a heart of gold, so please tell me, who is this Brian Kinney? Which show is that? :) And, if I could make a suggestion - have you watched 'Leverage' at all? Several of the people on my flist suggested Leverage to me, assured me that I would LOVE Eliot Spencer.
At first, I was all "I don't want to watch Leverage. I didn't like the A-Team. I don't care about cons." But, just like FNL isn't about the football, Leverage isn't about the cons....it's about the people and the relationships. It's also funny, clever, and great to look at. (And Eliot Spencer...yeah, totally checks all the boxes on my TV boyfriend list.)
