Nov. 30th, 2006 08:23 pmFrankenmix for November! On the very last day of November, ftw. :)
For the most part these songs are pretty straightforward, and a pretty even mix of songs that are pretty and songs that are way fun. If you have a question about why I picked a certain track or a link doesn't work, let me know. Tracks available individually below, or all are downloadable from this page.
1. A song for seduction: A Perfect Circle - When The Levee Breaks
This is a just listen. It's not about the lyrics but the sound of the song, which is slow and driving and hot as hell.
2. A song of succor: Snow Patrol - Run
(Even if it's just for a/ few days/ making up for all this mess)
3. A song of lustration: Sarah Mclachlan - Prayer Of St Francis
I had to look it up, but apparently lustration means the performance of a purificatory ceremony, and this song seemed appropriate.
4. A song of quietude: The Daylights - If Words Were Bullets
(If words were bullets in a gun/I probably would have killed someone)
I was defining this as quiet-tude: quiet songs with attitude.
5. A song with moxie: Stroke 9 - Kick Some Ass!
(How many people want to kick some ass?/ I do, I do!)
:D This song is SUPER. I really like it.
6. A song for detox: Nerf Herder - Sorry
(Sorry I showed up at your party/Sorry I drank up all the Bacardi)
A depressingly funny song/funnily depressing song.
7. A song for a safari: Bruce Springsteen - Jungleland
Honestly more for the title than anything else. A great epic song nonetheless.
8. A song for bitching: Get Set Go - I Hate Everyone
(And the people that I know, I hate you all/And the people that I don't, I hate you all)
Another very fun song. :))
9. A song for sleeping: Damien Rice - Sleep Don't Weep
This is off his new album 9.
